Case Study:

Welsh Ambulance Service

The Challenge:

Welsh Ambulance Service wanted a place for staff to relax during breaks from high-pressure work at their Dobshill Ambulance Depot in Deeside, and to see the site benefit biodiversity as part of their corporate social responsibility commitment and ongoing biodiversity mitigation.

Services Provided:

We created a wellbeing area and nature trail for staff, managed four acres of grassland for biodiversity using traditional methods, planted over 2,000 trees, applied traditional woodland management to existing woodland, created and manage an orchard, created a wildlife pond and manage existing ponds for amphibians, and built vertical rockeries for invertebrates.

The Outcome:

Staff at Dobshill Ambulance Depot now have a genuine wellbeing space, on a site managed for biodiversity across four acres of grassland, with over 2,000 newly planted trees, an orchard, wildlife ponds and rockeries for invertebrates.
